Training Courses

The following training courses are offered. Click on one of the links below to see details of covered topics.

This course covers the concepts, terminology and best practices using a Cogito based access control system. The graduates of this course will be familiar with all the aspects of the day to day operations of this system.

  • This is a required course for becoming Averics certified
  • Course covers System Design and Sales Training and the Cogito Operator Training courses

Duration: 2 days

This course covers the advanced functionality of the Cogito Security Management System. Features such as SSL configuration, web-server optimization, advanced troubleshooting are discussed in detail.

  • Averics Certification Level 1 course is a prerequisite for this course

Duration: 1 day

The course provides practical training on howto perform day-to-day security tasks using Cogito. A full discussion of administering users and monitoring the system is provided.

Duration: 4 hours

The course provides detailed information about Cogito product line with different versions of the software as well as various packages. We also discuss how to specify, design and quote Cogito from single door system to 1000s of door systems.

Duration: 4 hours

The course is designed to be 1 day expedited training of fundamental Cogito concepts and tasks.

  • At the completion of this course, participants are eligible for writing the certification exam to get Averics Certified.

Training Prerequisites

In order to maximize Averics’ training benefits, we recommend participants meet following set of prerequisites:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows
    • How to use Task Manager
    • Starting/stopping Windows services
    • Familiarity with installing/uninstalling applications
    • Understanding of Windows user accounts (local users, administrators, domain accounts)
  • Database Basics
    • What is a database?
    • Familiarity with SQL databases (MS SQL Express, Standard or Enterprise)
  • Access control fundamentals
    • Concepts such as door contact, request to exit
    • Basic installation experience
  • Networking
    • IP addresses, subnets, ports
    • Networking protocols such as TCP, UDP
    • How to set-up a static IP or a DHCP
    • Working with command line IP tools (e.g. ping, ipconfig)
