Connecting to video management systems

AvericsUnity supports a number of different video managements systems. Once a connection to a VMS is established, all selected VMS cameras are available in AvericsUnity for associated with system devices.

Installing the integration package

A video integration package for the video management system must be installed on all computers where you wish to view video. This includes the AvericsUnity server computer as well as any client computers. To download latest video packages, visit https://support.averics.com.

When viewing video on any client machines, AvericsUnity Viewer must be installed before installing a video integration package. It can also be downloaded from the above mentioned location.

Axis Camera Station package is pre-installed with AvericsUnity Viewer package. Hence, there is no need to install it separately.

Configure video management system

A VMS may require special steps to be taken before AvericsUnity will be able to connect to it. Please check VMS documentation or contact the VMS vendor support team for further information. Below, basic information is provided as a quick reference for VMSs requiring special configuration.

Axis Camera Station     Developer API interface must be turned on. In versions 4.0 and 5.0 of ACS, this is available in the service control properties. After doing so, you must restart the ACS service
